(15 February 2019, Honolulu, Hawaii) – The Philippine Consulate General, in cooperation with its private sector partners, Mahaloha Burger, McDonalds of Maui, and Office of Atty. Rhoda Yabes Alvarez, organized a Valentines Mixer for the Filipino Young Professionals Network at Wang Chung’s Karaoke Bar on 13 February 2019. Filipino professionals from various background came to the event to network and share their singing talents.

The Filipino Young Professionals Network of Hawaii is envisioned to serve as a platform to encourage greater collaboration and synergies among young professionals and Filipino organizations in different parts of the State. For the Valentines Mixer, the Consulate worked with successful Filipino business owners to come up with events that will gather people together and promote pride for Filipino culture and heritage. More events are expected to be organized in the months to come that will involve partnership between the Consulate, private sector, and community organizations using the Spark*Connect*Empower platform.  <END>
