(10 September 2019, Honolulu, Hawaii) – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu organized a Sunset and Fireworks Cruise for FilAm young professionals on 23 August 2019 in Honolulu, Hawaii. This event is part of the on-going initiatives of the Consulate to engage second and third generation Filipino-Americans. More than 20 people participated in the mixer, including two (2) Hawaii-based alumni of the Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO). It is hoped that through events like this, young FilAms will have a chance to connect with each other, know more about their cultural heritage, and become more involved in activities that benefit the overall Filipino community.
For its next event, the Consulate is partnering with the Filipino Junior Chamber (FJC) and FYLPRO in organizing a Business Networking Breakfast on 29 August 2019 from 7:00-9:00 AM at the Waikele Country Club Restaurant. FilAm young professionals and entrepreneurs will have the chance to share their business ideas and ventures and possibly learn from invited mentors who have found success in their own businesses and professions.
More information about upcoming activities can be found on the Facebook (Filipino Young Professional Network – Hawaii), Instagram (@FilipinoYoungProfessionalHI), and Meetup (Introduction to the Philippines Group) pages of FYPNH.
