An Afternoon of Filipino Dance, Music, and More!

Sunday, August 26 Peformances – 12PM & 2PM Presidio of San Francisco

Grab your picnic blanket and join us for an afternoon on the lawn at Presidio Picnic! The event will include Zumba with Gigi Hill Hopkins at 11AM, and dance performances by the Parangal Dance Company at 12PM & 2PM.

Parangal Dance Company, founded in 2008 by Eric Solano, is a Filipino folk dance group based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Solano, an expert in research and performance of traditional Filipino dances and music, trained with Bayanihan (Philippine national folk dance company). Parangal (puh-ruh-ngal) means tribute. The company’s mission is to give tribute to Philippine heritage by preserving and promoting ethnic attire, music, and dance through research, workshops, and performances.

Presidio Picnic brings a special focus to the food and cultures of our diverse Bay Area community by showcasing free cultural dance performances each month. Presidio Picnic also offers a complimentary bike valet, lawn games,
40+ food trucks including Filipino cuisine, and fun for all ages!
